I don't know what it is about Gumtree, but the time wasters on there are unreal.

Most of the time, anything I put on there, it's not uncommon to get offers of 25%...

You get absolute morons asking you questions to which the answers are clearly in the ad.....

Any time anyone says they're going to buy something and come and pick it up, I take it with a pinch of salt and, half the time, they never show up. I have wasted too many Saturday mornings waiting for no shows.

The last thing I put on there (yesterday), I had a back and forth with a chap who wanted to collect it, then needed to get a Zip car sorted, then he wanted it boxed up and couriered, then he said actually no he'll pick it up, could I box it up and he'll collect in the morning. Then this morning he texted to say actually I don't want to risk driving over to pick it up.

Arrggghhhh, people like this do exist ...and they're on Gumtree!!

I don't know about the internet in general but over, say eBay (which I thought had a fairly high percentage of time wasters), Gumtree knocks eBay out of the park!

Generally tend to agree. However, advertised my Triumph Sprint on there last week and sold it first day to The Superbike Factory who obviously check Gumtree for potential stock.

Good experience with them as well. Agreed the price over the phone, came to me and checked the bike and transferred the money to my bank account straight away.

I'd say gumtree site is shit to navigate , and I agree with dprice the superbike factory are a bonafide company I bought a vt750 off them before Xmas and got a great deal and good service
