My local council wants/needs to introduce this charge, it s a central govt. directive and it will generate millions in revenue.
The charges will apply to diesels over 5 years old and petrols older than 05.
The charge is 9 quid per 24 hour period.
The charge zone is anywhere you enter the city.....
So that's almost a tenner to go shopping or buy fuel or anything useful.
Another 250 quid a month to live ?

Another nail in the coffin of town centre shops! No-one needs to go there to shop any more, with out-of-town shopping centres and the internet.

A bit of research on the few details available,
The charge zone starts about 4 to 5 miles away from Bath city centre,
The charge will apply from 2020/2021
I live about 30 feet from the start of the charge zone ( the wrong side of the zone ) :smt013

Sadly a lot of this is down to lazy people jumping in the car to go half a mile instead of walking. Now we are retired we don't do a weekly shop we buy as and when we need it, my fitness levels have increased in leaps and bounds that way.

I don't jump in the car and go into town to do a weekly shop either, in my case, because I can't walk round a supermarket long enough - thank goodness for online shopping!
