Problems with a falco

Not what you might think.

I bought a falco that was damaged and written off by the insurance company, which the owner was paid out in January 2016.

Fast forward to December 2016.

The bike was reported in an accident in 2016, or should I say a bike with that number plate fitted.

I am now receiving letters from a company that. The letters are addressed to the previous owner but my address.

I have sent an email three weeks ago explaining the situation? I didn't get an email reply, and I am still getting letters.

I am going to ring them on Monday to explain the situation.

Any advice on what/ Not what to say?

Thanks in advance.

Oh not good.
It's a really pity we don't have TC on board any more for advice on these things.
Hope it gets sorted.
I think a phone call has to be the next step.

I agree on both accounts Andy.

I have never come across this before.

I would just say that you are not the person named on the letter, that the bike was not involved in an accident, it's nothing to do with you and if they continue to harass you they will hear from your solicitor.

On the other hand, I think it might be better to ignore them and do nothing. OR, speak to the police as there MIGHT be a cloned number plate out there. Is the bike now registered in your name? If so, in an accident the police would have contacted you. Sounds like a scam to me.

Spoke to them this morning.
Apparently the file is closed with them. And moved to another department.
