Mate's race team urgently needs sponsorship as their main sponsor's bank has pulled the plug (blaming Brexit WTF?? :-s ).
Fancy sponsoring the world's first paraplegic bike racer and his team?
Great for publicity and they're performing really well, always finishing high up in the ranking, often in the top ten.

Re: Fancy sponsoring a race team?
Who is your mate in the team? Anthony Kirwan? If so, he is no longer with the team and hasn't been since last year. I only made that assumption as you are both from Newbury.Nooj wrote:Mate's race team urgently needs sponsorship as their main sponsor's bank has pulled the plug (blaming Brexit WTF?? :-s ).

I know Talan, Steve, Will and Louis very well as it was me that arranged the orignal sponsorship with my old firm, and I am currently looking to try and secure them sponsorship from other sources. I should have been with them at Castle Combe last week, but an injury prevented me from driving. I am hoping to get up to the next Bike Exprience day at Silverstone and catch up with Talan for an update.
It is not actually the Bank that has pulled the plug. It is all a bit complicated.

Didn't realise that the first announcement regarding sponsorship was back in Fen 2014. It has come a long way since the initial discussion I had with the then team manager Anthony Kirwan at Reading East services on the M4 in 2013.
But I agree, they are a fantastic team to sponsor, they provide outstanding pubiciity and promotional opportunities and they are all great guys.

It is a bit complicated, so I will try and simplify it.
As you may be aware, Talan is also racing a Porche this year and 2 of his sponsors apparently have pulled the plug. This has had a knock on of affecting the bike team as well, and whilst the plug has not been pulled in respect of sponsoring the bike team at the moment, the financiers are watching all monies in and out like a hawk because of Brexit.
However, it is anticipated that sufficient funds have been made available for the team to at least complete the season, but I know from talking to Talan that the search is on for a potential main new main sponsor for next season.
I was going to try and get my new firm involved, but having just lost my job after only 5 months because they are also skint, no chance of that now.

I've known Anthony (and Danny Snook) for years, from the Fazer forum, but I meant Talan.
I helped out with TBE for their second year and Anthony and Danny kind of got into it and the race team through that in a round-a-bout way.
I don't know the ins and outs of the race team as I'd run out of spare time to help out in before that started up.
