Been tied up with some issues for a while, but now starting to get back to being around
Long and the short of it - had a bit of a health scare at the beginning of the year, and realised I also needed to sort a few personal things out
So, sort of back
Health issue sorted, life back on track ish and back to lurking around here
At this time I will not be going back to an admin role - still lots of stuff to sort out, but ....
Hello again :)

Hi Pete - welcome back! Looks like you've returned for the start of the biking season, so well done you, and hopefully it's onwards and upwards from here...

Hi Pete,
nice to see you back, and at least better than you were.
This place is much quieter without you.
I have not been around too much myself for a little while, mainly for health reasons, but feeling a bit better myself from today, (see the bar soon).
Big problem with me is the arthritis has now worked its way down to my feet and ankles, making walking much more difficult. (Already had it in hands, shoulders, knees, and hips).
Just had MY (old man's MOT, recently and my ticker looks fine but my blood pressure is a bit higher than it shold be, but not too bad.
Not done as much biking as I should over the last 12 to 18 months, as during that time I first dropped the Falco in a local petrol station, paddling the bike around after finding a pump not working and slipped on the usual derve oil sick and bent a clip on and numerous other bits. Then a few months later dropping the Kwack trying to get it back in the garage, but this time I ended up even more underneath the bike, so more damage to me than the bike.
I have not been out yet this year as have lost some confidence riding with feet I cannot rely on to take the weight.
See you in the bar shortly.

Sorry to hear that Howard. I must admit I'm finding pushing the bikes I have around (Falco and VFR) slightly more challenging than a few years ago, and also getting caught out from time to time. I have to say I'm looking at lighter bikes that still have a big fun factor, like the KTM 690R and similar. If a major manufacturer made a 160kg, 100bhp two-stroke I'd be all over it like a rash.

I kept looking at other bikes for a while, and got very near to a BMW K1300s, (def. NOT a lighter choice), before delaying things to see how things developed. After more than 52 years on 2 wheels, I've had a long biking life, so cannot complain.
Still like a few more years, if I can, just have to see.

That's why I've been on three wheels! It may not be the same as biking but triking is fun in its own way (sliding round a roundabout in the wet - or even in the dry!)
Have to admit I'm getting past even that now so I'm looking for a campervan, cos I still want to be out there, meeting other folks in fields!
