Yet another another one gone! Glen Frey, of the Eagles

#1 Post by HowardQ » Mon Jan 18, 2016 10:46 pm

Glen Frey of the Eagles died today.

I have been a massive Eagles fan from the start, and have every album they have ever made.
After the loss of DB a few days ago, I am finding this hard to take in. I had always thought that Joe Walsh would be the first after his history, and this has been a very sad few days.
Rest in peace Glen...

There's gonna be a heartache tonight, hope you now have a peaceful easy feeling, now the pain has stopped.

Please raise a glass with me in his memory.

Think the 6 oclock news summed him up very well, combined country and rock with all the rough edges polished off.
Im sure everbody has a fave Eagles tune some where in their heads.
Bloody hell, we're being depleted of great talent at one helluva rate :smt009

If you're a rock star or an actor, aged 67 to 70, be afraid. Be very afraid...

Seriously, RIP Glenn. I've always liked the Eagles, and some of their stuff has been sublime; One of these nights, Hotel California, etc. I saw them live in 1977 on the Hotel California tour and they were amazing. Each song was just like the album, only better (hard to describe).

Unfortunately I think we have to brace ourselves for a lot more of these obituaries in the coming months and years. Time is catching up with all the 60s and 70 Rock Gods, unfortunately.

My main worry is when (if?) Keef goes. I've always assumed he was immortal.

Keef looked pretty close to the off to me when last time I saw him on TV...

Yes this round of mid to late 60s deaths is pretty thought provoking, comming upto 61 myself.

And I also have very fond memories associated to Eagles tracks.
Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can enjoy today

No he's walking dead!
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

I hate it when people ask if you have a bathroom, I want to say "No we pee in the garden"
