If you are thinking of giving up smoking but...

#1 Post by fatboy » Sat Nov 14, 2015 6:34 pm

You are seriously addicted, like me,then try an electronic cigarette thingy.
I've gone from about 30 or more roll ups to around 3 or 4 daily,my favourite smokes of the day, first thing with a coffee, drive to work and post meal smokes.
These are soon to be phased out.
If you are going to do this then don't waste money on a silly little pen type thing, you will need a decent sized thing capable of delivering a good lung full of vapour, you are looking to replace the fag hit,it is do able !
My thing cost a bit over £50 but has paid for itself already

I agree!

I friend of mine in Glasgow used one of these, he gradually went from real cigs to the vape, then found he was using the vape less and less - he's now not used either for 2 months!

Have previously been a 40 a day man all his life - if Billy can do it, anyone can!

Never tried the Vape. I had an e-cig which I never really got on with, so I went from being a 20+ a day smoker to 0 a day cold turkey.

That was nearly 7 months ago and I have not missed it, but everyone is different in how they quit.

Well done TC, sheer determination !
For those of us who are not as strong willed as you, I'm finding my vape pipe a really good way of managing cravings.
Every roll up I smoke now seems a lot less attractive than the last one I smoked !
For you pipe smokers out there there are also trad style pipe versions as well but I have yet to see Bramble and Thicket flavour vapour

I gave up 8 years ago. like TC it was cold turkey. Do I ever miss it? The answer is yes, on one day a year, my Xmas day cigar.

I'm still trying, but Mike's given up trying - although he only smokes outside I can smell it on him, makes me want one all the time - specially now with the stress of dealing with my sister and my late brother's estate! Still keeping it to 2 a day though, smoked half at a time.

If you're down to 2 a day you can give up. You also need to stop drinking alcohol for a month as this encourages smoking IMO.
