Do this if you can folks

Following on from assorted health discussions, I would suggest that folks set up medical alerts for emergency services

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT203037

Has information for the Apple iPhones - I believe that most other manufacturers now have similar options

It may not just save your life, but get important information to medical staff when it's needed

It also allows your ICE to be easily contacted

I'm so old, I just carry the info round in my diary - that's a little book made of paper that I write in with a pen (old style intrument for communicating).

I'm just so glad I don't have anything Apple.

Thanks Pete. I've just inherited my wife's old iPhone and hadn't found that facility yet. Now set up.

I'm intrigued by your anti-Apple view Gio. Having just moved to Apple from a Windows phone and a Blackberry before that, I'm well pleased with my superseded iPhone 4S. I have also recently acquired an iPad and am impressed with that too. What am I missing?

Even before iOS 8 I simply made a photo of myself with my contact details edited as a graphic and use that as my lock screen.

So in the event of anything bad, hopefully someone can simply press the home key and even from the lock screen see my mush and ICE details.

people either love or loathe apple dusty

they make very good kit - but it is expensive!

they are also deliberately restrictive - i.e., the apps have been screened to ensure data is safe etc (OCCASIONAL glitch - but very rare!)

android devices are totally open - and therefore very very easy to both do naughty things, and suffer from naughty things

Windows phones - well - I rate them - especially the new ones coming out with windows 10 on - IF you are using windows 10 on your pc of course
(Many mac users agree - the new windows 10 is very mac like)

blackberry phones should be used as a paperweight imho - there time was 10 years ago....

and good idea with the lock screen image

its a start

having had private chats with several users here, many have conditions that emergency services would need to know about at the time - and being a realist, though i am not sure of the legality at this time - an indication of organ donation may be of use to keep things stable till the snatch squad arrive
(And yes, that is the term often used.....)

That's a good thought Pete - I carry the card and I'm on the database, but I may add that to the little folder I carry with details of my history and drugs and Consultant who dealt with the stents.

I already wear one of these:

and I like the look of these:

Like BG, it may be my age, but I'm happy to adopt the technology provided I have an old-fashioned backup! :smt003
