Buell bites the dust again
It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world than 30 years early in the next
Yes,I agree it is a shame, maybe too much of a niche market but no one could accuse the man not ''trying.
Took one for a test ride just before the first bankruptcy, it hurtled along at a rate of knots, lofted the front wheel with the slightest hint of an excuse, incredible fun once you got over the weirdness of stopping/starting the rubber mounted motor, the thing felt like sitting on a jelly at low speeds.
Rear brake did nothing, front brake tried to throw you over the bars.....

My son in law has ne of the early S1 Lightnings - he's always loved it cos it's a bit of a bugger to ride, and turns heads cos it has a really gorgeous paint job. He was lucky cos someone ordered the bike and the paint job, then delivery was delayed because of a recall on the shock, so Mike got it for the standard price as he was prepared to wait till they sorted the shock. He doesn't get a lot of chance to ride these days because of family commitments, but I doubt if he'll ever part with Tigger! (old scanned pic)

The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.
