Things I did not know

For example I did not know that babies are born without knees

Neither did I! Are you sure? Do you mean without kneecaps, ie patella? Cos maybe I did know that - it's only cartilage.

The Patella is definitely a bone!

It does, however protect the cartilage in the knee joint.

At birth, a baby's patella is still cartilage that has not yet turned into bone.

That said, babies certainly do have knees!

They are born with cartilage not bone so do not have knees / kneecaps they grow these later in time with walking. I.e when they need them

One of the reasons appears to be to allow movement bordering on hyper extensibility such as that which Mylene Klass has, which I also only just found out!

What I now need to ruminate on is why Mylene having this strikes me as a good thing ?

Apparently elephants don't have ankles, and you need them to jump with.

(Oh, and camels can't walk backwards.)
