for the next month or so. just come out of hospital after an op on my right hand. doc reckons a month off the bike. but tbh, the loss of use of the hand is causing more issues than just that! had to get the nurse to do up my flies!!
and the loo!
try washing your left armpit with your left hand!
or opening a beer bottle one handed
or tying shoes laces
and to cap it all I'm on my own in a day or two when swmbo goes on her travels. going to be fun.

And seriously, sympathies for the problems and hope you make a good and rapid recovery.

So the old masturbating injury finally caught up with you, then?
Seriously - commiserations - I had your problems a couple of years ago after carpal tunnel & elbow surgery. Very frustrating. For washing/showering, I taped a bin liner over my arm - cumbersome, but it worked. Trousers - jogging pants for now. If you need to wear something more formal, use a bike exhaust spring puller to do the zip.

eesh.. I know what it's like to be off the road for a prolonged amount of time. What a bastard! Still, hope the op will be worth it in the end, and you get back to being able to go for a piss on yer own.. But more importantly, get back on the bike!

My sympathies, it is amazing how much we take for granted.

Hope you feel better soon, at least it's not like you were going to use the bike anyway in this shite weather. Unless you've got a v twin outboard motor somewhere......
As for the swmbo issue, I'm sure you could find a nice young carer from somewhere, I hear thai or phillipino offer very good rates

the worst one i ever heard of was a french single handed long distance yacht racer. was stood up eating in the cabin when the boat fell off a wave. his head hit the roof and he bit more than half way through his tongue. he took a sailmakers needle and thread to stitch up his tongue himself and continued his race! complete nutter!
there was a bit on the bike show about that racer. he has a prosthetic that fits into a socket on his right bar.

I found a big paper clip through the zip puller helped. Or elasticated MC Hammer trousers...

Well I have got a hairy palm thanks to the ends of the 19 stitches sticking out, and thats what Mummy always warned about.

I guess you'll soon be feeling like a new man .... oy Squid !
I did both of mine 15 months ago and took till back end of this year to get back on the bike properly and have to use wrist aids as I get back into it... also when I had a previous accident shoulder kept dislocating when washing hair etc used a knox body armour jacket thing one size too small to hold it in when riding
but my brother who broke both his arms on one holiday and set fir to them both on a different holiday put it as embarrassment is having your mother wipe your arse when you are in your thirties so at least you have retained some dignity

quite. when I had them both done the first time round the doc was all for doing both at the same time until I thought of that pitfall. even with one hand life is difficult enough - you try tying your shoes laces one handed! Not that easy washing yourself either - I did suggest to swmbo that she come in the shower with me and soap me down but she didnt think that a good idea.

No sense of adventure!
unfortunately some muck must have got into the wound as its gone a bit septic. off to the docs this pm.

Sadly that's a common occurrence nowadays - but the number of people who pick up infections in hospital is a bit scary.
