Sold my RXS100 subject to collection. I always thought I would rebuild it one day but it became increasingly unlikely so when I saw someone advertising for a small Jap stroker to restore, I contacted him and he's probably going to pick it up tomorrow. I rode this bike for 3½ years and loved every minute of it!

Pic below was taken in Normandy in 1999 - the luggage included tent, airbed, cooker, clothes, etc. Touring with the Dorset Motorcycle Enthusiasts - longest trip was 200 miles in a day, I'm quite proud of that.

Have to admit I shed a tear - and will probably cry buckets when it goes. The last of my 2 wheeled ones.

I hope you managed to extract a good amount of folds for it. They're getting to be quite collectable.

Always a shame to see a loved one leave the fold, but as the saying goes "if you love them enough, you'll set them free"

As he agreed immediately to the price I suggested, I probably didn't ask enough! But tbh I'm glad it's going to someone who really does intend to restore it after the debacle with my Superdream. He's got several bikes of different types that he's restored, and they're all taxed, tested, insured and RIDDEN!

And re the price - he's the first person who's actually shown any interest, so if they're becoming collectors items, I've not found any of the collectors before. My non-biking hubby said 'no-one will want that, it's too far gone' - told him he was completely wrong and was pleased when the bloke said 'that's not in bad nick'. Of course surface rust and a broken seat look terrible to anyone who doesn't know.

The RXS100 was a top little bike; I remember trying to get hold of one to do up for my girlfriend at the time. I couldn't find one for love nor money. Did you advertise it on here, BG? I'd have had it...

I don't think I did. It was on several forums a year or two ago, even offered it to a 'Youthbike' scheme. Maybe it was just waiting for this guy Steve to come along.

Lucky bloke. We dabble with smaller bikes like these. My mates lad is currently working on an old ZR50

My mate had one when he was 17. He crashed it and bent the frame. He still rode it though. A very good work bike/commuter in its day.

More than that, it was a lot of fun to ride - it actually handled. And you could ride it flat out and get yourself into all kinds of trouble at a speed that gave you time to get out of it without crashing!

Well, if he doesn't collect or the sale falls through, you've got a buyer here!

Quick wipe over and a bit of Solvol and she'll be right as rain...

My condolences, by the way. I absolutely hate selling bikes; which is why I've only ever done it once in the last 20 years...

This is the second one I've sold - my biking days are over. I'm even vaguely thinking about selling my trike.

I'm another who just can't part with bikes.
I've had my 750 for 24yrs and an XL 250 Honda nearly as long.
Don't see the Falco going any time soon either.
