we were on this road at a similar time on saturday on the mid-year meet rideout,just makes you realise how much care needs to be taken while out.

What brings it even closer to home is that the car driver is a work colleague who's only just moved house to Market Rasen. He was on his way in to work for a 2/10 shift.
Don't know any more details apart from he's suffered a broken right leg and right hand and will be off work for at least 8 weeks ,which is obviously nothing compared to what the bike rider suffered.
Thoughts go out to the riders family .

I was just talking to my daughter about stand-up paddleboarding and saying I really didn't want to know about the big waves the other day, and she pointed out that I used to ride a motorbike.

We all just do our best to make sure it's not us - always hard on the families.

Not sure about the A632 bit.
I presume it is the junction between Bishop Norton Road and the A631 at Glentham, it was on our right, half way up the long straight just after the static speed camera the other way.
There have been a few bad accidents here, the usual accident involves a car pulling out of Bishop Norton Road and hitting a bike on the A631, or occasionally a car turning right into the side road and a bike overtaking.
Last one I saw was around September last year, involving a bloke on an SP1, who was also killed.
I was out with my mate Dave and it turned out that the bloke lived about a mile from him, and Dave knew him, but not too well.

Mmmm. We went through Glentham there and back. It will have happened an hour after we got back.
My sympathies are with the bikers family and the Driver of the car.

Yep, sympathy to all involved. I'm sure we are all well aware of the risks involved every time we sling a leg over a bike but i personally dont dwell on the subject or i'd never go anywhere. Ride defensively and anticipate as much as possible and while it's a cliche, life is for living, after all you could just as easily get run down walking across the road!
