Whisky

#1 Post by blinkey501 » Thu Jun 13, 2013 5:33 pm

I have been told from one of our administrators that I am a happy drunk :smt003 .
I never really have liked whisky.
I tried Bells. Fook that was rough. Grouse that was shite.
I have tried whisky that has been distilled in peat. Again not my cup of tea.
But at marches meet, after I was told by a friend of mine I tried isle of jura.
I think I am in love...... :smt030
What is your tipple? :smt017

Single malt whiskey's cover the whole range, the peaty ones are the fiery smokey flavours, then some of them are so smooth and sweet,
Yep, partial to a nice single malt, a very contented, warm , singing sort of drunk !
An old local of mine had about 40 single malts on the top shelf, most from micro distilleries, some even had typed labels !
Happy days :smt004

Tullamore dew

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I like a good range of em, Talisker, Oban, Highland Park, Jura, Laphroaig all lovely in their own way. Was hooked at 16 when the folks went to Scotland and bought me back a taster set :smt003

Can't stand any of that blended crap, I swopped a xmas bottle of Bells for a Glenmorangie with the old man, definitely the better deal :smt001

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

And you were only a happy drunk because we couldn't steal your hat...

Tried Glenfiddick and johny walker black label today. The Glenfiddick is the nicer of the two. I still like the jura best of all.
And nick. Whisky doesn't make you snore............ But the brew you was drinking at marches meet definitely does. :smt003

Cider is good, in fact I am taking the Falco to a cider festival next weekend and camping overnight. Farm brewed cider and lovely strong cheese, can't wait.

sounds excellent to me. particularly if its real cider using traditional cider apple varieties - a lot of cheap cider these days uses imported apple juice I believe. bland.
