Last year 13,000 people were listed as earning over £1,000,000.
This year, the higher rate tax is cut from 50p to 45p.
This means £1,272,500,000 less tax paid per annum, which means the super income earners will be on average £97,884 per person better off.
Child benefit will remain frozen for the third year in a row, meaning a 2 child family is £190 worse off due to inflation.
The £97,000 tax cut could have been a £190 boost for every family in the UK, ( £114.50 for one child families )

well the Cabinet members ( and what a bunch of "members" they are ) have to make up for the loss of expenses and supposed pay cuts/freeze somehow! And if they happen to help out a whole bunch of their mates and extended family at the same time then all well and good! Remember, we are all apparently thatcherites now so i hope you were not waiting for anything that would benefit society as a whole :smt012 :smt012 :smt012

see I may be misunderstanding this but Ican't help but feel a possible inference that there may be a more honest and sincere and decent even competent alternative

therein lies the flaw in the argument

It doesn't matter who you vote for the government always wins

Its not whether you get shafted it is more the circumstances of how when where and why

For example one that had me spitting in my gruel recently was a typical labour makes-peace suggesting that capping the benefits at 500£ per week would only lead to higher costs through prisons later on as people would be forced to turn to crime.

Note they would not choose crime they would be forced to it.. £500 fekkin quid a week!!

Bedroom tax - pedo's, rapists etc to be exempt: http://www.scotsman.com/news/uk/alex-ne ... -1-2870250

To be honest, the whole entire system is broken, and we will never be able to fix it without rising up to the government, taking them all out and starting again.

If every corporation paid the tax they were supposed to, we would not have a massive deficit and we would all be doing just fine.

Corporations avoid tax 'in the interest in share holders'. Most of the share holders are banks. Banks then pay their employees billions of pounds in dividends and launder money left right and center.

If so much money magically disappears, the people who do actually pay tax get to give their money to prop the banks up.

The world is owned by the banks. The banks literally own the corporations and those in government may as well be puppets of their corporate and financial masters.

I'm not saying that I would even have the slightest clue on how to solve things, but I can smell shit when it is being waved in front of my face.

Come on Fatboy - you are just quoting Unison who own and control the Labour party. Hardly likely to get a non partisan realistic interpretation of statistics from them are you? Better to look at HMRC own analysis www.hmrc.gov.uk/budget2012/excheq-income-tax-2042.pdf and form your own opinion.

Statistics - Pah!

Nothing changes - I belive it was Disraeli who coined the phrase

"Lies, damned lies - and statistics"

Was it not George Bernard Shaw ?

Where I was working were statisticians for presenting arguments for drug companies and honestly it shouldn't be allowed I mean
67.74 % of people quoting statistics misquote them
28.42% don't understand what they are quoting
43% just make them up on the spot

Unfortunately it has an effect on all parts of our daily lives so while i have no particular affiliations i do take an interest and will always use my vote even though it's hard not to be completely disillusioned with the majority of politicians these days, if they're not cheating they're lying and the rest of the time they're cheating and lying :smt013 :smt013 :smt013
