This is Amusing and Interesting

An early motorcycle education film. I like the staged accidents and the emphasis on motorcyclists having a reputation for being kind and considerate. Also the piece on riding in snow...

(I thought I posted this once but I couldn't see it, so apologies if it is on the site twice)

Wow. That should be shown to every road user before they are given their test certificate!

IIRC it has been posted before, but this time I actually watched it.

The majority of it is absolutely relevant to this day.

Especailly enjoyed the road rage references and the staged crashes were well done given the special effects they would have to hand at the time.

Crikey - I'm sure one of those riders was Howard

Sadly not, but I do recognise the good old fashioned common sense, informative approach with no bullshit, (lies), etc..

It makes you think though, were things really so bad in those days?
All those empty roads, people had accidents, but nobody ever seemed
to get hurt, (they just got up and picked the bike up), petrol at 10p per gallon etc..

happy memories then howard :)

I really enjoyed that film - it was a time gone by - and i also liked the section of clothing ... and the sly dig at what was the obvious boy racer image of the day!

Superb film, and as has been said already, almost entirely relevant to today's roads. It would be great to see an update with the same examples, script and narration style but today's bikes and environment.

Yes the rolling over and over accident stylee was very funny.

Surely you mean 2 bob

YES.
But I converted it for all those younger members, who don't know what 2 bob is.
Obviously you also remembered the old money.

It was a great film to watch, but they could never make one like it now, they only do condescending "Nanny State" stuff, full of lies about the casualty numbers. You know all those killed and seriously injured etc., plus all the problems caused by bikers.

Well, I chose to refer to it as 2 bob rather than a florin as I thought that may confuse even more!
