Im not being bah humbug but I can take or leave Christmas,most times I'd rather leave it.
Im not religous,since splitting up with the Witch there is no kid connection,I hate shopping,turkey,christmas cake.
My best bestest mate ( bless her polycotton socks ) insists I wrap tinsel round my dogs neck and indulge in the ho ho ho stuff.
I just dont get it, I fail to be infected by the whole thing.
Work wise ( domestic recycling collections ) the next 8/10 weeks will be hell for me
At least I get two days off work,but have to work the weekend to catch up,

I'm with you on that mate. Never been a fan, even when I was a kid. People said my attitude would change one I had kids of me own. Oh how wrong they were!

We buy presents for the under 16 year olds in the family but otherwise I completely ignore christmas.

I was never aware that Christmas was compulsory, I enjoy it though.

By compulsary I mean its impossible not to get caught up in the chaos, try finding anything usefull in a supermarket after 3pm on Christmas eve.
I will get asked What are you doing for Christmas ? so many times by joe public when Im working, its hard not to reply Same as last year,clearing up after you lot

This shit started weeks ago. Boils my piss. What am I doing for Christmas? A-Class fuck all, and less than that if I can get away with it. That is of course unless bike parts start to come back.. Then I shall be in the garage.

I appreciate christmas cos my girls always try to get together. Apart from that I think it's all been spoiled by extreme commercialisation, and the fact that it now starts in October and goes on till god knows when - then Easter starts on Boxing Day!

When I was younger it was just one day, and it WAS special, not just for presents but because we had things to eat and drink that we didn't get the rest of the year - not too much to eat and drink, just different stuff!

Treats were - chocolate biscuits, fizzy pop, tangerines, Chicken for dinner! There are no treats any more cos we all eat everything whenever we want it (well I can't afford lobster even at Christmas!)

best christmas I had in years I went to help out at a local church one year with meals and deliveries and genuinely had a good time

I used to get a bag of nuts every year.
When I got my first weeks wages I bought some bolts.

Best Christmas Ive had since I was a kid was in afghan. No mindless crap in shops months early, no tv mindless crap.. etc etc just the day itself, a small celebration with the padre making merry singing carols and a few little pressies. No commercialism, just.. well.. Christmas. and some camels.. and sand.. and weapon cleaning at 10am.
