2 Spammers who send out texts promoting compensation or PPI claims have been fined £440,000
Lets hope that is a start of getting the message across that they are unwelcome and unwanted

I didnt realise the scale of the money being made from this...Personally i do not reply in any way or form to these messages.
I am really glad they have had big fines from this, but i can't help but wonder how much they really made from the scam.

If you respond to one of their texts, they can get paid up to £10 for every response they get

Even if the response is negative ?
Like Blinkey I never used to bother replying but I get so many of the sodding things lately, I've been replying stop in hope of being left alone

And what you are doing apart from lining their pockets is also confirming that your number is valid, so chances are the number of texts will increase because they will sell on a valid number to another spammer
