As a way of keeping a lid on things I only ever have an alcoholic drink at weekend. Maybe a bit boring and sensible but thats me.

So every Saturday night its a few pints of cider - have drunk beer at various times in my life but I always liked cider more and the after effects are less difficult. No spirits - never seen the point.

So what are you having this weekend? Tes? Coffee? Jack Daniels? Old Peculier?

As a way of keeping my aklcohol level up I have a glass of wine every night with my dinner (cos I can't drink much more than one glass at a time any longer!

No other replies BG. I can only sssume that the rest of them are out getting pi55ed.

Almost never drink these days as even small quantities (yes, less than a half) usually start off a bad headache.
Doesn't always happen and sometimes I think "what the hell" and rely on painkillers to mop up the aftermath.
Really pisses me off as I love a nice bitter.

So for me it's usually coffee or water - and a glass of orange juice with my tea (that's my evening nosh - not that foul drink of the same name)

Some stuff called Debowe.. It's a Polish larger substance which has a fairly high alcohol content and is only £1 per can. It's not the best thing in the world if out on a session, but ideal to get started with.

I've worked in the alcoholic drinks industry for the past 25 years but I can take it or leave it to be honest. However, on occasion I do enjoy a good pint of Yorkshire bitter, a decent Malt Scotch Whisky or a Drambuie on ice, not to mention a decent red wine. Very rarely more than one or two at a time though. I hate that morning after feeling!

well i drank a bottle of jack daniels last night so know the morning after feeling well never mind few bacon butties and walk the dog on the beach and ill be fine for the pre lunch few pints in the pub i love winter sundays even as much as summer ones

Crikey, struv! A whole bottle? I couldn't find the beach after that let alone walk on it! In fact, I wouldn't be able to do lunch never mind the breakfast butties!
What beach are you near? We lived in Teesside in the 1980s and loved the place and the people. I always try to come home via the old haunts if I've been in the south for business or pleasure. It's a bummer that Croft doesn't see the BSB nowadays; that was always a good excuse for me to take the bike into Tesside and North Yorkshire.

Last night I was forced to open a bottle of wine for the sister in law.

went to seaton canoo were in Billingham and yes a crying shame about croft as we had freinds who lived in croft village and as nehbours they used to get free year passes for anything that was on and as they werent fans of motor sport they gave me and the mrs the passes every year.oh and it was only a 70cl bottle

My tipple of late is pear cider, maybe a zambucca if out or cold Went to a vodka bar awhile back, tried all mental old sweet flavours including parma violets!!! I was flippin hammered, tried walking to the metro in newcastle, that was fun for on'lookers....

Ain't no such animal as pear cider, whatever it says on the bottle!

Cider is a drink made from apples - if it's made from pears it's perry. They just call it pear cider to take advantage of the current popularity of cider!

Had several bottles of Thooeys New, some Canadian club and dry, a couple of white wines and a JD or two and some iffy cheap lager that was laying about the place.

As you can see I'm not too particular what get chucked down my gullet, wet and alcoholic fit's the bill.

Been lucky enough to not suffer from hangovers since I was 20 so don't need to give it a second thought, moderate or bother whats on offer.

Cider, however is my achilles heel, more than 6 pints and it's technicolour yawn time! Which is a bit of a bastard 'coz it's a top summer drink.
