Just been told by my mate who fits bike tyres for a living that pirelli have stopped making pilot road 2s and will be making the road 3 has the full time replacement.
I am after some new tyres and he said he might not be able to get the road 2s but will ring me monday if he can't get the sizes i want.
I could use road 3s but i wondered...
Has any one used conti attacks has i might try them instead.

Pirelli never have made the Pilot Road 2 and I doubt they ever will make the Pilot Road 3

You may stand a chance with Michelin ................

That said, you can't go far wrong with the tyres that Pirelli actually do make.

I had the Continental Road Attacks on my Triumph Sprint RS and I liked them. They replaced Bridgestone BT020s and I thought they were much better all round. They were very predictable with good feedback, and unlike the Bridgestones, their behaviour remained pretty consistent throughout their life.

I think you know what i meant, whilst you are wanting to take the piss andy are the conti's any good?

Dunno - I always use Pirelli (not some knock-off Michelins with Pirelli badges on them )

Jay - I've used Conti Road Attack and Sport Attack and can recommend them. Tyres are a very personal thing and any minor incident or slide can have you thinking... was it me or the road conditions or the tyre. I found them good in the wet and very grippy in the warm and dry. Done a couple of track days on Road Attacks and they were great. Wear rate is fairly average - 3k rear 6k front..ish. I like em and they are great value for money.

I've not had any experience of Pilot Road 2 or 3s so can't help there Jay.
Recently I have been using either BT 023s (better than the BT 021s on the fronts) and currently have Dunlop Roadsmarts on the Kwack and on the Oz wheels currently on the Falco.
The 023s are still on the old wheels for winter use but have not got around to changing over yet as I love the Oz wheels so much!
Both wear very well, (as both are dual compound), and give me all the handling that I need.
These days most sports touring tyres are excellent and these two tyres are better than pure sports tyres if you ride in winter, with quick warm up in cold weather and good wet grip.

The rear Roadsmart on the ZX9R has now done almost 5k miles and is still going strong, (not bad on a 150 bhp bike), so they do also wear well.
(front still has lots of life).

I have been told i can have pr2s or conti road attack 2s for the same money which i think is reasonable. ( Mates rates ) Fitted and balanced
Howard i have bt 021s on the grey bike and i have had a couple of track days out of them and they behaved impecably, unfotunatly i got a puncture on the rear at the bunghay meet. Which can't be repaired
The reason i have decided to buy pr2s is because they are on the oasis and i found them give better feed back than the bridgestones.
The conti's i have heard good things about them also and thats why i have mentioned them if i can't get the pr2s.
And TBH if you don't try different things how do you know what is better
