The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

Nothing surprises me any more.

but...

We can do pretty well what we wish with weaponry as long as theyre decommissioned before leaving theatre. SAS are no more special in that respect than Bob the Egg op. everyone knows it, everyone tries to bypass it.. everyone knows the score if they get caught. The penalties are known and it's widespread knowledge that it's illegal not to adhere to the rules! A sprog in the SAS is no more immune to that fact than the rest of us! And to not sort his kit out in 2 years or so before his injury.. he's a stripey?? even I square away my admin in shorter time than that, regardless of circumstances.

He brought back a weapon that wasnt decommissioned or authorised. Simple as. His mates have fekked him over when they packed it knowingly..

The timing is however shite. Yes.
