Interesting "Accident" witnessed last weekend

Whilst on one of my normal runs out near Newark last Saturday, I witnessed an interesting “accident”.
Decent unlimited road so keeping up a decent pace, then I spotted a police car some distance in front, who appeared to be following a Rover 200 quite closely, just in front of him. Not sure of their speed, didn’t look too quick, but caused me to slow down to their pace. They may have been over 60 but not by much and were approaching a 40mph limit through a village. Perhaps the Rover didn’t slow quick enough, but certainly slowed. Anyway the cop put his blue lights on as they entered the 40 limit in the village and Rover did nothing, so pulled past the Rover, eying up the lady driver. No response (possibly on the phone!). So the cop pulls in front and puts the STOP light on along with the blue lights and starts to slow down, then stops a bit in front of the Rover. Rover doesn’t slow, carries on then at very last minute wakes up and jumps on brakes, locked wheels, too late, bang. Front bumper off Rover and smashed lights, rear bumper off and smashed lights on Focus cop car. One very unhappy copper walking back to Rover. Woman just getting out with phone in hand!
Didn’t hang about, laughin that much havin difficulty steering the bike! :smt005 :smt005
Glad she wasn't behind me though!

Definately a "driving without due car & attention" job, minimum 6 points and a very hefty fine I reckon :smt009

Bl**dy great result all round. :smt005 :smt005 :smt005

Can anyone tell me why every woman driver I see these days seems to be on the phone? (No not a sexist comment, just an actual observation, alright not "every" but a good percentage) and whilst I'm in mini rant mode, why is that the more expensive the car (Mercs etc..) the more likely they are to be driving withe the phone glued to their ear? surely if you can afford an expensive motor you can afford a Bluetooth headset or a car kit??? :smt017

Sorry, mini rant over

Well would you buy a phone fr your car that might cost £200 then just for the attachment they want £400 plus instalment (BTW thats Merc prices for our car, fortunately ours came pre installed :smt003 )

couple of quid buys one of those earpiece tie clip jobs, anythings better than nothing.
Also add to rant people who stop ANYWHERE, cos there mobile has rung, get round a bend and theres a car driver parked up on the phone, being good :smt013 i`d rather they carried on driving and phoned back later.
and no1 menace - articulated lorry drivers on the phone, and even texting. nearly got taken out by one of these a few months ago on the A14, about 6ft into my lane and back whilst texting. also saw one go straight into a car on the m25, in traffic. slowish but a lot of damage. didn`t even touch his brakes.
and yes you are right about women in big cars on the phone, don`t know why, but its true.
rant over...................for now.

I've had 8 accidents in my life. 7 caused by women (failing to see me, busy talking, etc.). Only once I crashed without their help :smt002

How not to love them? :smt007

Every time I see a woman behind a wheel I either run away or - if I can't - just sweat. :smt013
