Wow - I'm away for a week and we've a 4 page thread selling timeshares in the site (or something)!
Good work chaps!

I'll chip in once I've got my feet back on the ground.

I'm really pleased to see the response - just as everyone else seems to be.
Really glad it's not a subs based thing as I think that would have been a sure-fire way to kill off new members - if you can't see the forum 'till you sign up and pay, you never get to look.

Pay-Pal button is a good mechanism to make payments but I think it will require occasional reminders and prompting after the current wave of enthusiasm has died down - my local forum has such a button and I don't think it gets clicked very often.

Maybe to keep some regularity, we could have members (individually or 2or3 teamed up) or relevant businesses becoming "sponsors of the month" - we'd only need to find 12 individuals, groups or businesses to chip in once a year ...... maybe crediting subtly something like this:

Got some other thoughts for additional funds but have to mull on that.

Anyway .... well done!

My 10 squid went in the other day. I don't mind paying for a community as good as this one.
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

This is what im thinking of, small icon but with a click thru to the dealer/sponsor's website

Size would be standardised so they all have the same size

Sponsorship at 60 quid a year, from date of first upload.

Ideas?
I'll have one of them kwak when you finalize things

I can't contribute any mechanical or experience know-how to the forum, cus I don't know shit, so this is an excellent way for me to support the life line that keeps my Falco ticking over. A very small price to pay for such a rich source of knowledge and support, which shouldn't be expected to be provided free of charge!

I'd be happy to pay an annual / life time membership fee, especially if there is a free sticker involved!

Cheers all

Thanks again from me for all the support we have had and seemingly still have to come :smt023

Ill look at the forum sponsorship thing and put some details up, clearly the most important one is gonna be the falco forum as that has the most visits and hits, so i'll earmark that for Pierre for now, will discuss it with the Old Man of Norfolk and see what He says, as well as taking comment from the floor..

Anyways, Thankyou again to everyone!

I think that's another aspect of what this is about Dale. Those that have knowledge share it - others learn ... and as they learn they share knowledge to.
Those that can afford it will contribute a bit financially but those that can't are just as valuable to the community we have here.

We'd all miss the forum if it wasn't here - not that we'd miss a faceless forum but I think we value the info and the people we've got to know that make it what it is. I guess this financial element is just another dimension to the way the community works and thrives through "members" contributing according to what they have to share.

your still not sharing your genital warts

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

So I'm different to a 'chap', eh?? I'm certainly not a chap-ette! :smt005

I dunno about bashful, just didn't see much point in making a fuss...

Put it in your diary, phone, blackberry, on computer or whatever! Failing that, make a post to say you've donated and just do a search for it when you think it's a while since you sent some dosh?

Although I'd appreciate a heads up myself, I can't see Sam & K wanting to remind people individually.
