...get well soon D - as has already been said, at least you broke ribs and not Falco (I'd've traded a few cracked ribs for avoiding the 'maiming' my noisy blue bitch suffered when I chucked it down the road). :smt006

I'm a wee bit late to this but never the less you have my best wishes for a speedy recovery DR.

All the best mate.

Cheers again everyone.

.... did sneak out to the garage today - had to look over Daniel's bike and get it sorted to be MOTd tomorrow. Plan was I'd supervise and instruct .... that lasted a little while .... how do you explain how hard to hit something with a mallet and where the blow should be applied? Resorted to demonstrating.
Got it sorted well enough. Main problems were a broken sidepanel - temporary fix of superglue and glassfibre reinforcing and clutch lever snapped (replaced with a brake lever fitted upside down). Mudguard stays bashed straight.
Sort out the footrest angle later .... not too bad and handlebars might be fractionally bent - but no MOT problem.
Job's a goodun. No real problems ... but absent-mindedly trying to pick up Joe's scooter might not have been a good idea. Soon realised that error and stopped that move!

Got my bike on the optimate too - going to be a little while before I'm going to be up to riding that (though I nearly went to test Daniel's once it was together ... but would have been spotted by the mrs)
For goodness sake don't let Pete read this - he'll have kittens too.

roflmao

I can preach etc, but I am a really bad patient so I would be just the same

and some exercise, with in limits will do you good - lounging around doing bugger all is a bad idea!

with limited movement, and not being able to ride - you do realise that your insurance would be invalid currently don't you
(Not joking about that - read the small print in your insurance!), you can get on and do a few small things - cook your wife exotic meals, clean the house, earn brownie points for the future....

oh - you could also finish doing some of those mods!

and did you get the picture of my friends triumph?

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Ahh.. teaching the kids the art of bodging. Can't do it with girls though, but maybe my grandson when he's old enough.... hmm... there's a thought. Keep it up! It's what made Britain great you know!

Cheers Pete thanks for the insurance info - though I'm not really going riding yet.
Bigger problem is actually finding my insurance documents .... I've got a producer but can't remember where I've put them!

Got the link to the picture but not sat down to find it yet - I'll get on to that later in the day.

Ring your broker/insurance co.

But tbo I don't see why you need to produce them its on the DVLA database.

No:
My son's insurance for him to ride his bike is on the database
My insurance for me to ride my Falco is on the database

The fact that I was riding my son's bike, with his permission, on my insurance is something that my insurance permits but is not on the database.

I certainly plan to ring the insurance company for a duplicate if I can't find the original (I'll need to report the accident to them anyway - but still have no details of the other party as the police were going to inform me of them but have not got back to me ... and I don't want to chase them up without having the info they require from me!)
Before I contact the insurers I'd better have a good search for the document (bet the mrs tidied it away....) - didn't really feel like doing that yesterday but not feeling too bad today so I'll get on and have a look.

Cheers

You know we should have clocked Andy's post count just after Pete told us about the off. I predict unprecedented spamming during his convalescense. Mind you a few more days of daytime TV and he'll be up and about again.
