Best place for Lardy cake round here is from the Demonbaker (previously Richie of RS and Raptor Chapter RS backwhen) - Marshall's bakery in Pewsey (and now also in Wooton Bassett) which is possibly where the PO got it from.

I used to buy bread from Marshall's (do they still make their own?) But now we have a really good baker in Camberley. Its sad that nowadays people seem to put up with any rubbish thats called bread.
