Mines due in May.. So am looking closely at what's going on with this. I didn't have a choice when it came to the photo card licence. My provisional was paper (although had the choice for photo licence), but by the time I got round to doing my test, the rules had changed. They'll have a shock when they get the new picture as the only one I could find at the time was when taken when I was 14.. I just wanted to get my pass certs sent off ASAP and couldn't be bothered with the Post Office to get a new picture done. lol.. :smt003
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Applications made at the post office are transferred electronically cutting out one chance for the royal mail to lose them.

Just found a major flaw in my plan to declare my licence "lost" just prior to it being due for renewal.

It would appear that if your photo licence is due for renewal this won't work as the DVLA will happily charge you a replacement licence but it will still be due for re-newal on exactly the same date as the original.

Hence you could end up paying twice but still don't avoid the risk that you "might" lose some entitlement

Seems to me its just the luck of the draw as to whether its goes through OK, but on the positive side they deal with thousands of licences every week and only a very very small percentage of people seem to have a problem

I've spent 50% of my life riding motorcycles, the rest I've wasted!

You can age a lot in 10 years!
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.
