The issue was never brought up again. Matey was dismissed a few weeks later due to misuse of company property (he was doing jobs on the side and writing his thesis on company time and using company resources). He tried to turn that into a race issue too, but failed.

I'd say it's harmless fun, but there are way too many do gooder knobs and serial complainers about to take the piss anymore. Unless of course you're white, male, young, but not too young and heterosexual. Then you're fair game.

Yes he`s a great bloke, but a bugger when he`s pissed, and just like the good Aussies, sorry Australians, he calls a spade a spade

However, he has got into a few diplomatic scrapes, on a visit to China a few years ago, if my memory`s correct, landed himself in hot water for calling em slant eyed, or something like that. Going back to an earlier discussion, do the Falklanders get upset for being called stills? Do Spades mind being called Spades?

I always thought the suffix 'stan' meant land .... take the land away from Scotland and the people are scots.... take the stan away from pakistan and the people are paki's ......

u iz right LOL...all we need to do is simplify everything and you can see there is no racism there!! I dont mind being called a Jock !! even if it was in the heat of an argument, id rather that than be called a fat b*stard and if someone called me that no one would bat an eye !!! I would cry myself to sleep and go on a diet LOL

There was a report in the paper i work for few weeks ago about the Scottish Library in Edinburgh, staff got emails saying they had to remove any Scottish Memrobilia off there desks !!! Doh !! this is the Scottish Library !!! To me the big bosses who sent that are racist to us and the people who complained about anyone having scottish stuff on their desks. Oh...and a restaurant in our area took spotted dick off the menu and replaced it with spotted richard !!!!!!!!!
