I'm glad you're enjoying it, but it does make me wonder if by making it to difficult it reduces peoples urge to take part.

Well Gio - for a bit of feedback.......

I had a go. Got No1 easily enough and moved onto No2 - the blue thing. I must have spent an hour trying to find a bike remotely similar to it on various old heap/vintage websites and in the end got fed up and quit.

So I suppose it was good entertainment for a while and I now know far more than I ever wanted to know about Broughs and AJSs etc :smt002

I'll mark my own entry...... 1/10

:smt003

Right well ignoring Fausto's one, I've had a grand total of 2 people who have pm'd me with their replies.

1st up was D-Rider and then Kwackerz.

Both have done well.

However I know Sam was trying and I believe a few more were so I'm going to leave it until I get home later this evening, before revealing who has done what.

I'd like to say that if any of you have got even a few right (or think you have) please enter you might be surprised at how well you did. :smt001

Right after a lot of haggling with a rider called "BUB" (yes you know who you are) I'm pleased to anounce the winner of this weeks quiz.

(I only have 2 as well all you :smt018 people who are half hearted at guessing.

On 8 correct answers we have D-Rider (Andy) and in 2nd place we have Kwackerz (Tim) with 6 correct answers.

Here is the list of questions and answers.

1).What does the term desmodromic mean when related to Ducati motorbikes and why did they use this system.

1) Answer. The word "desmodromic" is derived from two Greek words, desmos (controlled/linked) and dromos (course/track).
It refers to the exclusive valve control system used in Ducati engines: both valve movements (opening and closing) are "operated".
More specifically it relates to the fact that the valve is closed by the camshaft rather than a spring (it also allows the engine to rev higher).

2).This motorbike manufacturer is also famous for the production of bicycles.
Name the manufacturer and for an extra point the bike model

2) Answer. 1937 Bianchi ES250/1

3).This bike was made in 1994, it was a bid by a certain manufacturer to break into the sports bike market, but proved to be an expensive failure.

3). Answer. Harley Davidson VR1000

4).This Manufacturer also makes bikers leathers, who is it? As a clue this is a dragbike.

4|) Answer Arlen Ness

5).This is a 4 seater motorbike, name the manufacturer.

5) Answer 4 seater Böhmerland/Cechie

6).This bike was inspired by WW1 rotary engines. What is it?

6) Answer Megola racing model

7). I know it doesn’t look like a bike but it is, name that bike

7) Answer BUB, LSR bike.

8). One of the best race machines you will find, it was designed by someone who defied conventional wisdom.

8) Answer Britten V1000

9). A very famous brand of bike, this one is from 1928 and the picture was taken in 2007 at the Ace Café.

9) Answer Brough SS100

10) This bike doesn’t live up to its name, name the bike and manufacturer.

10) Answer Ducati Brisk.

Andy got questions1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 correct

Tim got questions 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 correct

I thought that'd be the easiest as you might remember I stuck up a moped in the MotoGP forum about Stoners secret bike. :smt005
