The build had stalled a bit, but despite that I'd often spend a few minutes at the bench and tinker for a few minutes, or stick a bolt or two in ... Then I realised that I'd got really quite close to having a bikr that could - theoretically - get an MOT ...
Here's a couple of pics from the Breamore House - Poole Bay Classics - show I took it to with the VJMC last weekend...

The tank was great and a dream to spray - no leaks from either the tank or the tap which for an RG5 is a real bonus! The seat unit and side panels however will need a bit more work - the pillion seat converter doesn't fit the tail unit properly and need some locating lugs fabricating to line it up properly, and I need to make some spacers to lift the seat unit up off the exhaust pipes. The side panels have been cut down and therefore have lost the lower locating lug - this makes them rely solely upon two grommets and they flap more than an old granny's beef curtains.
The belly pan - which is an original plastic one - has needed quite a lot of patching up, but it's almost ready for paint, and likewise the fairing and side panels.
I was aiming to keep all the wiring tidy, so as I've junked the original air cleaner I've taken up that volume inside the frame's headstock casting with the wiring and reg/rec, feeding all the cabling and looms up through the original air tube holes behind the rad. I was a bit worried that the reg/rec wouldn't get enough airflow so I've mounted it on a piece of perforated aluminium sheet with a small 12v computer cooling fan bolted to the rear.
I've got to get my car ready for a couple of weeks away with Mrs. Greg but once I'm back I'll crack on and try to get it finished..
