I don't care what they're made of anymore, they're round and I'll soon be able to ride my bike again instead of just revving it in the garage. They could be made of chocolate and probably outlast my first pair
380 fekkin miles!

I don't care if you lick windows,
Take the special bus
Or occasionally pee on yourself.
You hang in there sunshine, you're special!

Although, as an aside, it appears there has been some development in magnesium alloys as Yamaha have decided it's safe to use them on the road going production R1:

Yup, it means it's forged ally and not magnesium.nicketynoo wrote:Lightweight forged aluminium it says on the website ,does that mean not magnesium?
Honestly if they're specced for a road bike albeit an exotic one I wouldn't sweat it. It's not in their best interest to be killing people who might buy another expensive bike in the future. MCN would probably moan too, unless they were asked not to.
I've seen a handful of wheels in going on 30 years of testing stuff. Most were exotics that we hacked up to see how they were coping. One came off a fatal and it was determined to be damaged by the crash rather than to be the cause of it.
The best thing I've seen was a drag wheel with a Goodyear Eagle slick attached. You could pick it up with your willy. Well I could...
Where ever I lay my hat.....

Well the wheels are sorted and they're also standard! The day they picked my bike up the standard wheels arrived . I was obliged to have the standard wheels fitted otherwise they'd have been stuck with another set of wheels that they'd probably struggled to get rid of. I can see bennetts point of view but was a little disappointed but at least I'm back on the road again!
My claim is apparently in the hands of the councils legal team aka judge rinder!
