Decent enough bikes, but lacking a bit of character.

if its character you want then it european bikes for you. Older BMs are cheap, and available in all sorts of flavours fromroadster to adventure. Or you could look at a guzzi. Mychoice would be one of the early hinckley triumphs - in those days their quality was jap level.

In my experience, 'character' usually means some bits don't work, other bits fall off, and the garage floor gets dirty. Oh and you need full membership of the RAC.......

The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

Still looking, but Howards suggestion of a 600 Fazer is growing on me more and more (I like my Yamahas).

Anyway, made someone an offer on a bike he was selling, which he accepted. Couple of phone calls, and he was going to call me back to agree a date to pick it up.

Didn't hear any more for a week or so, then he emails to say he's sold it elsewhere for more money. Not happy about that, as I'd offered what he asked, but there's plenty more bikes out there, and no point making a fuss about it as its done.

I'll be back soon.

They are a brilliant do anything bike, but a bit old now so have a good look and you might just find a nice tidy one.
In the same vein, the Thundercat it was derived from is also a good bike, as is the 90's CBR600.

Picked up a nice clean low mileage fazer last night. First ride on road this morning for years, and good to get back out.
First impressions are the bike is exactly what i was looking for, easy to ride and not threatening to my licence.

Time for another quick blast :smt003
