Havent this time.
5. Most LEI cases are handled by paralegals or legal execs and only supervised by a solicitor.

quick scanning i misread this as 'are handled by paraplegics'

I was just about to congratulate the insurance profession for their support for people in this position.

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Even if you take legal expenses cover you dont have to use it. On the other hand, its handy to have such cover to recover your excess etc when you have a minor accident - no ambulance chasers are going to be interested in a no win no fee on just a £400 excess are they? Probably not even on the usual whiplash but I dont know for sure.

So my view would be to take the legal expenses cover but use a specialist solicitor if there is a significant claim.

If a law firm takes on the claim then the uninsured losses form part of the claim for special damages.

If the claim is deemed non fault, then if the insurance company will not take over the claim for the uninsured losses, then it is a simple case of issue proceedings online against the third party and the third party insurers and pretty quickly judgement will be made against said third party together with your costs.

Very simple, so LEI still not a requirement and still a waste of time and money.
