A quick heads up on the forums and settings.. New members!

#1 Post by Kwackerz » Tue Jul 15, 2008 10:16 pm

We've had a fair few new members of late, Just thought i'd take the time to familiarise them with what we have here.. old n bold feel free to jump on the bandwagon and extoll the virtues of various things.. like ARS's archive.. RS's archive..

Anyways.

When you signed up for RS/ARS (one in the same) you will have been granted the standard default colour scheme. It's not too bad, but it is customisable to a point..

If you click on 'profile' and scroll down, you will see a drop down menu (called Board Style: )where other styles can be selected. then scroll down, save changes and as if by magic, when you click back to the forum, it all goes a different colour... cool and groovy, man... :smt020 experiment away dudes! (you can also set your timezone in there)
:smt001

next up, the member's map! flick thru the forums and you'll find this stickied in various places, shove a pin in your location and there ya go... it's ace for seeing who lives nearby in order to try and organise rideouts, or even swinging parties, if youre that way inclined.. the options for it's uses are endless.. there's also a few racetracks listed.. so for instance you get the correct Donington... or is that Donnington... :smt002

Please do take time to fully explore the site. It's fekkin' Huge and there's always something to investigate. I wholly recommend having a good search of the archived sites.. it's like a little exploration expedition all of it's own.. especially following some of the old links that can be found.

A quick search thru of the various 'stickies' at the top of the various forums will also provide some great things to play with and look at.. the links section is great too, a whole range of stuff to look at, the geek section has some great articles in there by Alad, theyre well worth a look at too.

If ive missed you on your grand entrance to our home on the web, then 'Welcome to the RiderSites'. I love this place, hope you will too.

Enjoy..

Members maps eh?

How long have I been with RS? Really can't remember - but I never knew there was a members map!

Route planning is all part of the fun, if I had satnav I'd prolly hit it wiv a big 'ammer cos I find those smug voices soooo annoying!

At the start of the thread I mentioned:
When you signed up for RS/ARS/KRS/HRS you will have been granted the standard default colour scheme. It's not too bad, but it is customisable to a point..

If you click on 'profile' and scroll down, you will see a drop down menu (called Board Style: )where other styles can be selected. then scroll down, save changes and as if by magic, when you click back to the forum, it all goes a different colour... cool and groovy, man... experiment away dudes! (you can also set your timezone in there)

This was set to one of the acidtech schemes however ive reset the default one to be subsilver which is slightly easier on the eye. your own chosen ones havent been defaulted, or shouldnt have..

I thought at the same time as changing the default, i'd nudge this thread for the newer members who may have missed it... and some of the older members who may have.... :smt002

Another quick nudge.

A lot of new members lately, so time to remind peeps to read the first post on this thread.

and no i wont put a link to the map.. sit and have a flick thru the forums here and find all the hidden gems that are squirrelled away. it'll take you a few hours, but it's ultimately worth it..

and no DR that wasnt midget gems. before you and the matron start.. :smt002

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
