Black Forest hotels?

#1 Post by FlyingKiwi » Sat May 01, 2010 9:57 am

Right, I'm off to Stelvio via the Black Forest mid June. Anyone got any recommendations for accomodation in the South of the Black Forest?
Cheers.

I seem to recall TC may be the man to ask. :smt017
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

I used to have a holiday home in Wolfach which is about 30 minutes from the Swiss border, 40 minutes from Frieburg and about 45 minutes from the French border at Strassburg.

Beautiful part of the world also located right on the start of the Black Forest Highway.

There are 3 or 4 good quality but inexpensive hotels located in the town centre, or you could move a little bit east and head for Offenbach which is a slightly smaller town, but Wolfach is my recommendation.

Stuttgart is about an hour to the north and you go past Hochenheim on the way.

There is also a hotel close to Wolfach owned by a former World Moto Cross champion and for the life of me I can't remember his or the hotels name, but I will try and find out.

It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world than 30 years early in the next
