London travel

#1 Post by FlyingKiwi » Tue Jun 23, 2009 9:05 am

Hi all,
I'm venturing down to the big smoke with the family next month. Only for 3 days.
Any clues on the best way to get about in London? Do I need an Oyster card? Any recommended hotels? Any info gratefully received.

Tube wins hands down (after motorbikes).

You don't need an oyster, they charge a deposit for them now anyway. You can still just buy daily travel cards that work on the tube and buses. The tube isn't so good sarf of the river.

Buses are ok if you know where you are and where to get off. Not as fast as the tube for obvious reasons.
