insurance time
just got my quote through - 3 years no claims, 1000 leather and helmet cover, fully comp came in at 200 - not bad i thought
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

lord - just tried the tesco online quote - guarenteed to be the cheapest - down to 111.... with the same company... how the hell does that work?
but, it did come up with a policy that allows me to ride other bikes and also to ride abroad - 123 :)
moral of the story - even though i thought 200 was fair, still shop around - you will get cheaper it seems

LOL - got a quote yesterday for me and my mrs to drive my car when I buy it off the company.
clean licenses, accident free record
Mazda 6 Estate 2 litre diesel 6+ years old - value £3k
No no claims (using that on the mrs car)
Annual insurance ...... £1,818 FFS
At the same time I told them my son passed his test last week .... so for the remaining month of the policy on my mrs' car, that's costing an extra £40 on top of what I paid when they were learners.... if my other son passes a week on Tuesday, that will add a further £70 for the last 2 or 3 weeks of the policy. I'm dreading renewal on that one (7 yr old Fiat Punto - Me, Mrs& 3 kids on the policy)
For the Falco I'm paying about £170 (sounds as though I could do better on that too then Pete ...
Did get another quote for the car and got it down to just over £500.

Aparently, Martin Lewis's site (moneysavingexpert.com) has a list of comparison sites to use, in a specific order which generates all sorts of amazing deals. Personally, I'm using Saga (sad but true) as they do a good deal to use your car abroad AND will get close to on-line deals for renewals. But those bike deals look GOOD. Still not imported the Falco yet - still trying to fathom out the conformity issues...

I stopped using Carole Nash when they gave me an excess of £450!!!!!!
LOL!! Ive never had a big excess with CN, but saying that I usually stipulate over the phone I need 'X' amount as an excess (usually 100 quid) or im off to Devitt, Bikesure or elsewhere who can find me a lower excess policy.
