12 quid aint bad... Not sure if this applies to motorcycles too although the AA I seem to recall were shite if picking up your bike following a spill, something to do with insurance

Depends really doesnt it. If you have basic and say the distributor goes tits up, it'll get you off the road to a place of relative safety off a main Motorway or A road. Push the car out of the garage and park at the roadside Nip down Halfords, or A1 motorspares, etc buy the part, fix the car, carry on. Recovery's usually what 80 quid off a motorway? instant saving.
If the car has really shit itself.. say thrown a piston through the block, you can upgrade to relay there and then. Pay the extra only when you need it and recover home.
Win win situation for 12 quid?

Not sure if you can still do that, people took advantage of it...If the car has really shit itself.. say thrown a piston through the block, you can upgrade to relay there and then. Pay the extra only when you need it and recover home.
I was thinking in terms of bikes aksherly - and of course from a different POV! (agewise and mechanicking wise!)
