The Mrs and I were at the NEC last night watching the stage show of War of the Worlds.
It is based on Jeff Wanyes version (the best) and he was conducting the orchestra.
Basically it is the whole album from start to finish with an orchestra, an electric band and original music from the album. The screen above and behind was showing the plot as it unfolded. It was nice to see a film being played as the show went on (I always wanted to see something like that) They had a good working model of a Tripod which must have been as tall as a house.
Richard Burton was a computer generated image and all the key voices were sung live by various people and a good job they did of it too. The only original was Justin Hayward who has not lost his voice.
I would recommend seeing it if you havn't already.
My only gripe is the £8 parking at the NEC and the privilage of walking a mile or so to the concert hall (on top of the tickets)
