OMG what have I started here.

I know that a 180 degree configuration is a flat twin .... and we'd all agree a 90 degree motor is a V ... and I doubt that few would question a 110 degree motor being described as a V ... or a 120 degree ... or a 145 degree ... so why not a 160 degree ... or a 170 degree .... then a 175 degree ?
So what about a 178 degree or 179.5 degree ???

Is the only Flat Twin a 180 degree motor? Where does a 179.9 degree motor stand?

Is a Flat Twin a special case of a V Twin?

Is this a question for Twin Nut?

Does it matter as long as it powers a bike?

Vee, Vee..

Dunno? Point 9 of a degree would therefore give it a True V..not a plastic wannabe Vee like Gio has.....

Nope.
Most probably..

Undoubtedly as Gio has one. 'Wannabe Vee' I likes that.. hehehe.. I shall now refer to all BMW flat engined bikes as that.

The BMW engine can't be a 'V' as the cylinders are opposed, ie they both move out and in on the crank at the same time. I'd guess and say a parallel twin is the nearest to a V without being one. :smt017 yeah I know :smt005
I hate it when people ask if you have a bathroom, I want to say "No we pee in the garden"
