Only listened to the first one, the Spitfire flypast. Absolutely beautiful sound, even when it's coming from a recording, and on a computer. a haunting sound.

I think it was from a film.
As far as I know there's only 6 spits and 2 mossies that can fly

Depends whether your inside or outside of a Herc.
Theyre bloody awful when youre inside. Trust me.

I did 10 parachute drops from a Herc, Choppers are a lot louder/rattlier.

And you think they sound nice inside?!! You really are barking!! Theyre nowt but a deafening drone. I guess they sound better when youre jumping out of them though, from the outside...

Yep its nicer from the outside. They sound good when they take off if you're on the ground as well, thinks its something to do with unsycronised engines.

I live about 15 mins from Duxford.
Often hear the Merlin roar during the summer.
A bit waltish though it may sound, we work on an ex RAF airfield. Laid chilling out and lazing on the airfield during dinnertime (with yer eyes shut) (when we're duty support for the training exercise going on) it's easy to imagine yourself taken back to the times when those bad boys ruled the skies.

Been to Duxford (many years ago tho)
You're right there are no Mossies flying at the moment, but theres 4 altogether that might be made airworthy One in the US, one in Canada and two here.
At the time of the last movie made that had them there were 2.
