I've been Tangoed...

#1 Post by mangocrazy » Thu Dec 07, 2017 10:06 pm

I have a confession to make. I haven't been flirting with the Dark Side so much as the Orange side. Yes - I've succumbed to a KTM; a KTM Duke 690 R, to be precise. This is what I'm rabbitting on about...

Image

75 bhp, less than 150 kg and top-notch WP fully-adjustable suspension and Brembo Monobloc brakes. Now that's what I call a recipe for fun (hopefully at less than licence-losing speeds). And here's me compressing the suspension...

Image

Even better, it has longer than normal travel suspension (150mm / 6 inches), so should cope with our crappy roads better than most. And the latest iteration follows Rotax design and has balance shafts operating off the crankshaft and also off the camshaft, so vibes should be minimal.

I can't wait for spring... :smt001

Can't see your pictures Graham?

That's strange. I've loaded them to Photobucket in the normal way and as long as you've got the Photobucket Fix applied, they should be visible. Is anything displaying? And what browser are you using?

Looks like a recipe for great fun Graham. Look forward to the match reports.

My son had the 990 superduke, he loved it.

Must admit I'd have liked what you have got.
I hate it when people ask if you have a bathroom, I want to say "No we pee in the garden"

Yes, really looking forward to when I can get out and play on it. Not intending to do that while there's any salt about.

Been thinking about this for ages, but it was given real impetus when I found out that KTM will not be producing the R model for 2018, and the base Duke 690 model will follow suit at the end of 2018. So I started checking the dealers for unsold 2017 stock and found this at Redline Motorcycles in Loughborough.
