Cant get my head around this one

#1 Post by fatboy » Tue Mar 05, 2013 7:26 pm

I recently purchased a set of 1 piece leathers from Demon Tweeks, nice kit, serious amount of armour, new company on the scene so good price, £408 all in.
I thought I had bought on credit but laptop crashed, got back to my order and clicked to buy, but DT site reverted to default setting, single payment causing my overdraught to go ballistic.
Rang Demon, they were brilliant, returned leathers, got credited the cost, wentfor the credit option... DECLINED
Check my credit score. V GOOD according to Experian.
WTF ?

Because you returned them - call demon Tweeks and I think they will be able to sort it

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

You credit score will only drop if you stop paying bills. I find the more credit you have (credit cards, store cards, loans) the better your score. My credit score is abysmal as I was a daft twat many years ago.. Defaulted and never applied for credit since.. To be fair, don't want it either. :smt001

Will give them a ring back and try again.
When I applied for the credit my account must have been more than £400 over the overdraught limit.
My postcode may be the culprit, previous dodgy sorts next door !

Doesn't it just go on your name and dob these days?
I don't like credit anymore, stung once too many times. My fault....sort of.

Im not sure, the online application asked minimal questions, is your income between this and that ?
Did not even ask for employers adress. My employer has a finger in many pies, rail, civil engineering, highways, waterworks, rivers and canals, refuse and recycling ect. so I they may not have been able to verify my employment.
I know credit is expensive but Im the kind of person that earns well below the living wage that needs credit for hefty purchases, yes I do look for the best deals !

Depends or used to on lots of things maybe your account going into unauthorised od that month and you applied for credit set off a red flag plus other factors. It is true to some degree that the more credit you have the more they will give as they can assess your history and therefore the risk. Still if you do go for broke and hit the cards etc for a lottery sized sum you only need to go on the lam for about 6 years allegedly

Me I hate credit I d rather just have free stuff
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

By the 6 years thing are you talking about statute barred? They must prove that they have contacted you and you have responded either through letter or phone within the six year period or they can no longer take you to court? In Scotland its 5 years, England 6.
