Damp morning at Donington

:smt001
Started at 4.00am with the rain knocking on the bedroom window.
Thought, turn over it will have stopped by the time the alarm goes off. Had it hell as like.
Anyway, off we set for sunny Donington, water running from the back of my helmet onto the buff and down my neck, it will be OK will have stopped when we get there. Was it hell as like.
Sign on at 07.45, dripping wet and told to come back for breifing at 08.30.
It will have stopped by then. Had it hell as like.
Breifing at 08.30, told start delayed, report back at 10.00.
It will have stopped by then. Yessssssssss, it's stopped.
First thing on breifing is, THE DAY IS ABANDONED.
Too dangerous with the rivers running across the track.
Another day to be set.
Set off back for home in little bit of sunshine peeping through the clouds.
By the time we'd got to Derby it was throwing it down again.
Again water running from my helmet down my neck.
Turned around twice due to flooding.
Got home around 11.30, to hear on the radio that most roads around Chesterfield had been closed.
Ah well at least we tried.
Another date arranged for 20th September.
Adventure before Dementia.
