Thought i'd seen a thread about track day insurance, but can't seem to find it.
It had a link on to the site.
Has anyone any idea where it is, has anyone used them and are they any good.
Got a day booked for 25th June at Donington, with a m8 on a CBR600.
Donington track attack. Quiet day 98Db

trackcover.com never used them myself but have heard of plenty that have. I'm with combined insurance myself.

Thought this looked really good - medical expenses, personal liability etc ..... but could find no mention of cover for accident damage to the bike itself.
In fact, after a bit of a search through the Summary of Cover, I found:
4. Activity Equipment (own)
Cover in respect of loss or damage of your own activity equipment. (up to £1000)
Main Exclusions:
Loss or damage to any motorised mechanically propelled or horse drawn vehicle, any aircraft, motorised or mechanically propelled watercraft or sailing vessel.
Now maybe I've failed to grasp something - but surely the main thing that we'd want from trackday insurance is the security that repairs to our bikes are included should the worst happen (obviously with some excess to make it affordable).
Unless I've missed it, the policy doesn't seem to cover that!

I doubt very much you will find insurance against the damage of your bike, I have heard of it in the past but not for a long time. I think the insurance companies have wised up to the fact that if you do trackdays, you are going to crash at some stage. I was under the impression you wanted personal injury cover, thats about all your going to find I'm affraid.

You're probably right bikesdelsol - I'm probably living in cloud-cuckoo-land these days.
Not sure what Falken was hoping for though.

There was a company offering bike insurance a couple of years ago, but cant remember who it was though
I do remember that there were a load of exclusions on the policy (like all the plastics and expensive bits) so it wasn't worth having when I looked into it.
CICA are good for peronal accident cover though - most racers I know are with them and they have a good reputation for paying out without any hassle, so if you can break a few bones at the same time it usually covers the damage to the bike

Quick look on the internet suggests some may do trackday insurance with accidental damage cover - but no idea how good these are:
http://www.moris.co.uk/pages/contact.htm
http://www.sisa.co.uk/per/moto/quick3.htm
http://www.pitandpaddock.com/
This is also interesting - but don't know whether they do bikes ....
