What the hell caused this to the rear tyre . Is it poor suspension or pressure or the fact it was a soft compound on a reasonably hot day. The pressure was 29psi the tyre was a Bridgestone bt002 soft. Really need to know what to sort out.

Really need to know what to sort out.
Respray the bike, assuming it's the one in your avatar.
The tyres obviously can't cope with fast yellow.

Big V Twin, Soft Compound, Hot Day, Racetrack, Not a new tyre (possibly?)
That tyre looks normal for coming off the track at the end of a decent day's circulating?
I'd say if anything it'd be the rider input.
Hard out of the corners were we?

Silverstone was the place and as for time haven’t a clue but I would say I was near the top end of the inters pace wise.
And have a bit of a confession I wasn’t on the Falco.
Would like to know if it was heat or a poorly set up bike.
And as fer getting my knee down sometimes I did some times I didn’t.

Have a look at this site
http://www.feelthetrack.com/tire-wear.html
Gives quite a good explanation of the varying wear types. I'd bank on cold tear maybe? Would go with it being the first session 'n all.
I'd be tempted to nip over to
www.motoforum.net and ask about on there, theyre all club racers and highly knowledable in the art of rubber hoop wear..

Twas on me R1

It carried wearing the same throughout the day. The pic doesn’t really show just how knackered it is.

Ha that explains it . According to the link I am suffering from heat tear with a little cold tear and maybe a little shock tear.

So your suspension is shot then!
Do you use tyre warmers?

Are you running a little under inflated? That'd make heat build up worse as I understand it.

Saw a bloke at Brands a couple of years ago on an R1, mind you they were slicks, but they were fecked after 2 sessions.

Could be a lot of things causing it, what group do you run in?
