Casey Stoner Quits

#1 Post by back_marker » Thu May 17, 2012 4:19 pm

Casey stoner has announced that he will quit Motogp at the end of the 2012 season

“After so many years of doing this sport which I love, and which myself and my family made so many sacrifices for, after so many years of trying to get to where we have gotten to at this point, this sport has changed a lot and it has changed to the point where I am not enjoying it. I don't have the passion for it and so at this time it's better if I retire now.
After so many years? He's only 26, can't he say anything without sounding whiney/stupid/both?

Yep at least we won't have to listen to him whinging on any more.

The most annoying thing was that he is rather good at riding a motorcycle (although it pains me to admit it)

Wasn't it Casey that was getting more from following his lad's championship scrap?

Well, I've never warmed to the bloke, but he is undoubtedly his own man and marches to the beat of a different drum than most of his contemporaries. He also doesn't seem unduly interested in money, which is refreshing.

He is also currently the fastest motorcycle racer on the planet, and by a fairly scary margin (IMHO, of course) . It's all going to be a bit 'after the Lord Mayor's show' in 2013.

To be fair, he's prolly been racing on two wheels for about 20 years if he's like most of them........
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

I've also always been a Stoner fan, in fact a fan of what seems to be an Aussi style of riding.
I guess 'ride it like you stole it' is quite appropriate for the convict colony. :smt020

Do you think that he's really quitting for a major operation to separate his top and bottom teeth?

I hate it when people ask if you have a bathroom, I want to say "No we pee in the garden"
