Malaysian MotoGP - Marco Simoncelli
Hope he's ok. But after watching a replay, it's not looking good. If he survives that he's a very lucky boy indeed.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Absolutely gutted beyond belief, trying to get my head round it.
Hairbear Bunch was my favourite MotoGP rider alongside Rossi. I feel so sorry for Vale and Colin who apparently hit him (havent seen any footage) and the lad's helmet came off. I think, in my own mind that when that happens, in such an incident that he got the better of the sad endings. Better to burn out than to fade away, better to go quickly than be held captive by brain injury, which I would imagine wouldve been the result had he survived.
Rest in Peace Marco. You sit alongside the greats now on the best grid in the world. Miss you already.

Couldn't have put it better myself. A wonderful person, a superb rider and the MotoGP paddock is now a lot poorer place without him.Kwackerz wrote:Absolutely gutted beyond belief, trying to get my head round it.

I wonder if Lorenzo, Stoner & Pedrosa now have any pangs of regret about slagging him off for his riding style? I thought he was fantastic and I'm truly saddened by his loss
RIP Marco

Terrible loss. Haven't seen the accident (not sure I want to), but Marco was a future World Champion and a real racer. He was one of the reasons I watch MotoGP. Sad, sad loss, but as Kwackerz says, probably a better end than living the rest of his days as a cabbage.
Last year Tomizawa, this year Marco. Racing is shit sometimes.

Absolutely shocking news.
It's a huge blow for racing - Marco was a breath of fresh air - but that's nothing compared to the loss for his family and friends.

Desperately sad news. It was an awful crash. I think it will be enough for Edwards to call it a day.... maybe Rossi too. He was always such a happy presence when interviewed. I can't imagine how Edwards must be feeling -him about to retire and being involved in the fatal accident of one of the best young guns for years.
RIP Marco - we'll all miss you.

Absolutely unbelievable accident, made my stomach turn when I saw it, with the loss of someone who was part of the future of the sport.
A racing accidnet, pure & simple, but no doubt it will have ramifications for MotoGP. Must be really hard for Edwards, absolutely nothing he could have done there.
RIP Marco, you will be missed.

Colin and Vale have made short statements, Rossi on Twitter, Colin on Facebook:

That in itself is a bit of a relief, not due to being a fan and wanting them to race but because of who they are, the men behind the helmets. I hope and pray they both continue to cope with it, they'll no doubt have proper people there to help if they need them, but nevertheless I pray they bounce back from the tragedy.
