..... because they aren't racing ..... do keep up ..... unlike Kawasaki ....
Though it is said that they are contracted to compete - so the ramifications of their withdrawal could get a bit interesting.

So who have we lost from MotoGP and WSB?
MotoGP:
Kawasaki
Anyone else from either?

Not as far as I remember but Honda's official team (with Hodgson) pulled out of AMA superbikes.

Ah that was it. I thought there'd been a cropper elsewhere.
Rallying is suffering too I believe, as well as Formula Hamilton
BMW and Aprilia are still coming out to play though in WSB? Thatll be worth watching. Pity Haga isnt on an Aprilia again

I can't see the satellite teams doing to well in LeCrunch. And Suzuki's team must feel a bit vulnerable. Could it be the death knell for GP?

I doubt it but it won't be the same as we have had the last 5 or 6 years come 2010.
I'd like to see the budgets slashed by at least 2/3rds and relying on rider expertise.

.... but isn't that more in keeping with WSB? - racing tweaked production-based machines.
The concept of GPs has always been to race the pinnacle of technology - racing prototypes. (I really don't see how the GP600 class will fit in with this though).
We already have both types of racing - why would we want to change one to become more like the other?
Maybe people will prefer to watch the production-based racing. OK, fine, the balance between the popularity of the 2 will shift. Maybe that will lead to less budget for the GP teams and slow their development but that can happen in response to popularity, gate receipts and TV deals - we don't have to force it.

I think RossiGP wouldnt become any the less for a cut in funding..or at least a cut in funding for the technology side of life. Thing is you could not apply that equally across the board. Ducati would still secretly chuck millions at it's racebikes and the Rossi freight train will still kick it's ass...

Don't you think this is already happening?
