Dunlop and Pirelli will slug it out in a two-manufacturer contest to win the valuable contract to supply the entire British Superbike and British Supersport grids in 2008, it emerged at Brands Hatchthis weekend.

So why are Michelin so keen to drop it, I dont quite understand that? Surely they'd gain more from going for the contract as well?

Hmm the earlier events in May seem to answer that..
Michelin recently suffered the theft of one of its latest-technology tyres during a British Superbike Championship event.
In an effort to safeguard its industrial secrets, Michelin therefore has chosen to seriously consider its involvement in competitive race series outside the MotoGPWorld Championship.

IMO its all a load of bollix, just cos you have one bad season doesn't mean you should quit. After all look at Bridgestone, slowly getting better each season, then when Michelin go tits up on the knowledge they cop the results and Michelin throw their dummy.
But then thats the Frogs for you, fecking peasants.
