It's time to pin your colours to the mast. Predict the riders who will be the top 3 at the end of the 2020 season.

I'm going for:

1. Marquez
2. Dovizioso
3. Quartararo

I know it's verging on suicidal to bet against MM93, but I think that this year the opposition might have a sniff. The Yamahas seem (on the basis of winter testing) to have really turned the corner and have possibly the best overall package. Honda and MM haven't enjoyed their usual superiority and have struggled to even get on the leaderboard, partly due to MM's issues with his shoulder, but also due to the bike itself being (apparently) a retrograde step.

So to my mind the riders best positioned to benefit from any fall from grace by Honda/MM would be Vinales or Quartararo. I have no doubt that Quartararo is a future MotoGP World Champion, but I think 2020 might be a bit soon. So my top 3 is:

1. Vinales
2. Marquez (Marc, obvs)
3. Quartararo

(Unless MM/Honda have been sandbagging all the way through testing, of course...)

Something they're rather good at.
Anyway the premier group isn't going to Qatar, just moto2 and moto3. (cos they're already there)

Covid-19 and MotoGP. Its had an impact already, so the question is, how many rounds will be cancelled this year?
It'll certainly impact Dorna's wallet.

New announcement Thailand has been postponed. Sheesh its started.

Quite a bold choice Mr Mango, well done. I'm keen to see Marquez under pressure.

He got quite a lot last year from Quatararo. :smt001

I think the cancellation of the first 2 rounds will be something of a boon for MM. He'll have a lot more recovery and rehab time, and you can be sure that Honda will be working away in Hamamatsu on the shortcomings of the 2020 bike.

Not quite so confident in my prediction now... :smt002

Well seeing as they haven't changed anything yet, I feel you'd be justified in changing your choice. :smt003

So now we have an amended season, but I'm starting to wonder how many rounds will be cancelled. As far as I can see there could be a minimum of 12 rounds cancelled in the near future, they are, Jerez, France, Italy, Catalunya, Germany, UK, San Marino, Aragon, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia and Valencia. Doesn't leave much of a season does it?

Austin is looking shaky. The local City government looks to be panicking: The City of Austin declares 'local state of disaster' to 'more proactively increase preventative measures' for coronavirus. Events with over 2,500 people 'prohibited unless organisers are able to assure Austin Public Health that mitigation plans for infectious diseases are in place.' 47,000 spectators attended race day last year...

Also Argentina, they're scheduled for November now, pushing Valencia to the end of that month, I don't think we will see more than a handful of races this year.

In light of rapidly developing events my top three are
Bankruptcy
Redundancy
Ruination

(Well you gotta test people's senses of humour)

So now the French GP has been postponed, I can see thee 20 races being crammed into 3 months lol Or I can see people asking Dorna for their subscriptions back.
